For Kindergartens and School Groups

Educational packages

What is it like to grow up with reindeer?
What does a reindeer herder actually do in daily life?
And how can you combine a traditional lifestyle with a modern livelihood?

Our educational programs for kindergartens and school groups offer students a new perspective on Sámi life and reindeer herding.
They’ll learn about taming reindeer, the balance between tradition and business, and what it means to live as a modern Sámi culture bearer.

Aslak is an experienced guide and communicator with deep roots in reindeer herding. He creates learning experiences tailored to age level and school curriculum.

Through storytelling, discussion, and hands-on activities, students explore Sámi culture, language, food, and animal welfare.
They’ll also learn how sustainable tourism can support reindeer herding as a supplementary income, all while meeting the animals up close, trying lasso throwing, and sitting around the fire in a traditional lavvu.

Presentation of Sámi culture and reindeer herding, reindeer encounter, lavvu visit, simple refreshments, hands-on activities.

Approximately 2–3 hours (adjustable to age group and needs).
